Clairvoyance Exercise

This is an exercise that we did in our September Six Sensory Meeting.  We usually begin our meeting with a guided meditation to raise our energy and clean our energetic field. This is an exercise to practice your clairvoyance skills.


  1. Find a magazine that predominantly has pictures and photographs.  There should be pictures on almost every page. For example, National Geographic would good for this exercise, The Economist would not. 
  2. Have some post-its or small pieces of paper to be book marks handy, you will be using three.
  3. Number your book mark pieces of paper 1 through 3.
  4. Using your journal, write down on one page 1, the next page 2 and the next 3.  You will be writing what you ‘receive’ on each page for 3 pictures.  Have your journal and pen or pencil ready to write on. Make sure you are on page 1. Then place your magazine next to it.
  5. The first step is to close your eyes and take your first book mark, then randomly select a page in the magazine, without looking at the page in the magazine put your first bookmark there.  Keeping your hand on the page, but not looking, put your left hand, or the hand you do not write with, palm down or fingers down or just one finger (index or other) onto the page.  
  6. Be careful not to peek!
  7. With your other hand, pick up your pen or pencil and get ready to write.  
  8. If you want you can close your eyes, but you don’t have to.  Now with your hand on the page, notice what images pop up in your mind.  They may be shapes, or colors, or textures, or something else that may be visual to you.   Draw what you see in your mind’s eye, even though you may not be good at drawing, you can still draw shapes, like a circle, or a square.  You can write down words if they describe what you are seeing.  Be as complete as possible.  You may tell or ask yourself, or your guides or angels, show me what is on this page, or “What images are on this page?” 
  9. Then repeat this with pages 2 and 3 and bookmarks 2 and 3. 
  10. Only when you are done with all 3 pages you can look at the pictures. 


It is important to only look at your photos when you have finished all 3 pictures.  This is because you will get better as you go along, and just get into the flow.  Don’t judge what you are doing, just write whatever you get.

Look very carefully and see what you picked up and how it matches the photograph.  You may pick up a predominant color, or a general shape.  Remember, you may also be picking up images that are on the opposite page, that is the page that was resting on top of your hand, not under it!  Don’t be disappointed if what you thought you saw over all in the scene is not what is in the picture.  More importantly, look at the shapes you drew, where you drew them, or perhaps the words you picked and where you put them on the paper.
